Remembering Cicero Brooks Jr.

Cicero Brooks Jr.

Cicero Brooks Jr. at NRRA Conference 2019.

From all your friends at the National Risk Retention Association, Godspeed, Brother "Ro!" Cicero (aka “Ro”) was a gift of pure joy to all of us he touched.

A founding early member of our CRISP program for students,… gifted with a sense of humor and a charisma that was larger than life, Ro could (and DID) work a crowd with the best of us. Even while serving NRRA as the coordinator of our program, he led a group of students, making them literally the “hit” at the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) conference one year and was always there to help us at a few of our conferences as well.

The good Lord took you away from us too soon, Ro, but probably wanted you up “there” with him so he could have the benefit of your kind sense of service and humor. We are all better for having known you as we did.

- NRRA Executive Director, Joe Deems, and NRRA 2023 Chairman, Tim Sullivan

What a tragedy. Cicero was such a warm and engaging person.

Cicero was a kind and charismatic person. I enjoyed working with him on the CRISP program.
